East Shore Park to Stewart Park

Heading southeast, this trip follows the east shore and southern shore of Cayuga Lake to Stewart Park.

Description of Paddling Experience

This is a relatively short trip in shallow water past lakeshore cottages and across the southern end of the lake. Paddlers need to watch out for buoys and sailboats from the Cornell Sailing Center as they leave East Shore Park.

Other Options

Paddlers can continue on from Stewart Park heading west towards the lighthouse and breakwall, then head south on the Cayuga Inlet to Cass Park. Paddlers need to watch out for motor boats near the marina and college crew teams. There is a floating transient boat dock at the marina, and a launch area at Cass Park for paddlers that may need a break.
